Volunteer Activities:

Association of Manufacturing Excellence (AME) The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) is the premier organization for the exchange of knowledge in enterprise excellence. It’s a volunteer driven organization comprised of improvement practitioners who desire to share their experiences, learn from others and use that gained knowledge/insight to further develop people in their organizations and grow their business. Members come together to explore lean thinking and other enterprise improvement methods, exchange best practices and network in order to advance their careers and improve the competitiveness and overall value of their organizations.

AME’s power is in the mentoring relationships that take place among our members. It provides company leaders with educational opportunities to learn leading-edge topics from their fellow practitioners.AME’s Target Online is full of how-to case studies describing practitioner-implemented process and organizational improvement stories. AME also holds an annual international conference that is an outstanding networking opportunity.

Dominican University’s OLLI program – San Rafael, CA – Global Issues (weekly discussion group) Denzel Washington said, “If you don’t read the news you are uninformed. If you do read/listen to the news you are misinformed.” I love the quote and it hits at the primary purpose of our group. Our discussions are intended to leave us ‘better informed and aware of what is happening in the world.’ To help make that happen we have created an operating protocol and established a couple behavioral norms that we are all expected to follow. Each week we discuss a single topic. Articles are often drawn from the Foreign Affairs magazine. Articles are often drawn from the Foreign Affairs magazine. We’ve had animated discussions on a wide range of topics including: Revenge of the Patriarchs, Future of Work in Africa, Changing Role of the US Marines, Cyber Security

It's a fun and energizing experience. We typically meet weekly 4pm to 5:30pm Pacific Coast time using Zoom. So anyone can sign-up for the Dominican Program and join us. We limit the group to 22 people.
